SHEIKH MANSOOR FESTIVAL NEWS
Brazil hosts two Wathba Stallion races today

HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival will host two Wathba Stallions Cup races at Jockey Club de Sao Paulo on Saturday, July 22, 2017.

The Wathba Stallions Cup GP Munjiz (Group 3) and the Wathba Stallions Cup GP Mahabb-the first ever Grade 3 race for Fillies and Mares in Brazil will be part of the Festival’s Wathba Stallion Cup Festival for Purebred Arabian horses.

Purebred Arabians will compete for the GP Munjiz (Group 3), 1.400 meters, Turf. The horse to beat is Mahogany HVP. He is sired by Power World JQ and Magnum Rose HVP (Magnum Psyche) and won this race in 2016. The GP Munjiz is the first Grade 3 race for Purebred Arabians in Brazil and has an astonishing R$ 45,000.00 purse.

Mahogany HVP will run against seven very strong competitors. Heron HVP, a serious contender in the race, is a record holder on the 1.400 meters, Turf, with a time of 1'34"655 last October.

The Bay Horse sired by Fa El Shawan out of Hushahby Bey (Bey Shah), is looking for this Grade 3 win, as he already won the first Listed Race in Brazil.

Another serious contender is Marei Rach who isn’t a record holder, but did win a Listed Race in Brazil last May, during the festival of Grande Prêmio São Paulo (G1), for Thoroughbreds.

Rhondo Rach (record holder on the 1000 meters, Turf), Kazan, Velozter, Acalanto and Mozart HVP will also run in the GP Munjiz, Grade 3 race for Horses of 4 & Up in Brazil.

With a purse of R$ 45.000,00 purse, seven Arabian Racing Mares will compete for the GP Mahabb, the first ever Grade 3 race for Fillies and Mares here in Brazil.

Seven Purebred Arabian mares will compete for the honor of winning the first Grade 3 race in Brazil, the GP Mahabb, run over1.400 meters on Turf.

Without Orchestra Rach and Zinia VE, who both provided a serious challenge last year, Zells Kate will be the favourite to win this race. Zells Kate by S W Zell X Zell Lady N Red (Zachzell)and bred by Lynn Kitto, ran with the above mares in her last two outings, finishing 3º place in both races. Zells Kate is the actual record holder over 1000 meters, Turf, with a time of 1'05"707.

The chestnut mare has a big chance to present her owner Almir José Ribeiro, with the GP Mahabb trophy.

Zells Zenyatta , a talented mare may surprise the other runners, as she broke her maiden very easily in her first ever start, so, if the mare by S W Zell and Cowboys Gal (Wiking) makes it to the starting gates, her rivals may have a big problem on their hands.

Another steady performer, is Cantiga VE, by Feitizzo Rach X Unic Appeal JP (Borsalino K), bred by José Silvestre Viana Egreja, who is the record holder on the 1.200 meters, Dirt track, at Jockey Club de São Paulo, with 1'25"738.

Mares to watch are Ciranda VE and Miss El Challare, both rookies and trained at Hipódromo de São Vicente, the famous Brazilian silver racecourse.
Vertente Rach and Guinevere Rach also entered the first running of the GP Mahabb (G3). Both horses are already winners, and they will provide a good balance between all contenders and guarantee an exciting race.

The races are part of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival which is sustained by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and coordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with National Feed and Flour Production and Marketing Co.
